Privacy, Disclaimer & Duty of Care

Except as set forth in this Article or as specifically agreed to by you, Young Women Empowered will not disclose any Personal Information it gathers from you on our Website or during calls. We may release Personal Information to third parties: (1) to comply with valid legal requirements such as a law, regulation, search warrant, subpoena or court order; or (2) in special cases, such as a physical threat to you or others. In the event that we are legally compelled to disclose your Personal Information to a third party, we will notify you unless doing so would violate the law or court order
We do not share any information about you with any person or organization outside Young Women Empowered, with the following exceptions:

If you have really serious problems we may wish to help refer you to a specialist agency or organization in your community that can help you get the help that you need.
In certain situations we are under a 'duty of care' - these situations occasionally arise when you tell us:
* that your life has been threatened or someone is hurting or abusing you
* that you are seriously thinking about hurting yourself
* that you have hurt or are seriously thinking about physically harming someone else

In these rare situations we as an agency may need to seek the help of another specialized agency to help us to help you and to help others. The Young Women Empowered facilitator will let you know that he/she is concerned and will work with you to ensure your safety and the safety of others. This may mean that the Young Women Empowered facilitator will ask for your contact details as a safety precaution.

Young Women Empowered, it's employees, representatives, chapter organizations, ambassadors, friends and advisors give advice and opinions in good faith and each and all cannot be held responsible for the consequences of imparting such to any individual or a body corporate howsoever arising whether in Canada or elsewhere in the world.
It must be expressly understood that the individual remains personally and solely responsible for the choices he/she makes and the actions that he/she takes in his/her life.
The information contained within Young Women Empowered.com or any email responses initiated by Young Women Empowered and or its agents/representatives should not be used for diagnosing or treating a health problem or STD. Young Women Empowered is not a replacement for consulting doctors, psychologists, psychiatrists, specialists, pharmacists, nurses or other healthcare professionals. Young Women Empowered is not a replacement for social agencies or other community interest groups. Young Women Empowered seeks to work towards a better world in which poverty and suffering may be eradicated and people may live in peace, health and harmony together.
